Comments

When visitors leave comments on our website, we collect the information shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string, to assist with spam detection, website security, and comment moderation.

An anonymised string created from an email address, also called a hash, may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether the visitor uses that service.

Gravatar and Automattic Privacy Policy:

After a comment is approved, the commenter’s profile picture may be publicly visible alongside the comment.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.

Media Uploads

If you upload an image to the website, you should avoid uploading images that contain embedded location information, including EXIF GPS information.

Visitors may be able to download publicly available images and extract any location information contained within them.

Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate website features, remember preferences, improve security, measure traffic, and provide relevant content.

If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are provided for convenience so that you do not have to enter the same details again when leaving another comment. These cookies may remain for up to one year.

When you visit the website login page, a temporary cookie may be used to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal information and is removed when the browser is closed.

When an authorised user logs in, cookies may be created to save login information and screen-display preferences. Logging out removes the login cookies.

If an authorised user edits or publishes an article, an additional cookie may be stored in the browser. This cookie contains no personal information and only indicates the relevant article or post ID. It normally expires after one day.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

The RSSA SPORTS app and website may also contain links to external websites, documents, live streams, or organiser resources. The privacy policy and terms of the external service apply when you access it.

How Long We Retain Information

Favourite players, notification preferences, and cached event information may remain locally on the user’s device until the user removes them, clears the app data, or uninstalls the app.

Push-notification and support information may be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, or fulfil legitimate operational requirements.

When a visitor leaves a website comment, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve follow-up comments without placing every comment in a moderation queue.

For registered website users, if any, we may store the personal information included in their user profiles. Users may view, edit, or delete their personal information, except where the website does not allow usernames to be changed. Website administrators may also view and edit this information for administration and support.

Official sports-event information may remain available as part of event results, rankings, reports, archives, or historical records where publication and retention are legally permitted.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, organisational, and technical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, alteration, misuse, or disclosure.

Data transmitted between the app, website, and supported services is intended to use encrypted HTTPS connections.
